“Not all those who wander are lost”, a line from the poem All that is gold does not glitter, written by J. R. R. Tolkien for The Lord of the Rings might be true, but not always. It is a fact that many people feel lonely even though they are surrounded by people and we see that almost everyday, all around us: at school, at the mall, some people even feel that in their families. With a lot of love and selflessness we, the 6th graders, believe it is possible to change this!
After watching the short video, Oscar Winner of 2010 “The Lost Thing” in class, we talked about what we can do to make bullying stop, thus making everybody’s lives that much more meaningful and happier, and also how important it is for people to feel welcomed, loved and cherished despite our differences!
After that, each student created a Lost Thing of their own and placed it standing there, lost and alone in school campus. Now, people during the Literary Fair can find them and bring meaning to their being found. Let’s all be people who help one another to be found in each other!
